Global Industries names operating, marketing chiefs; president will retire in 2011

Global names new operating, marketing chiefs

CARLYSS, La. — Global Industries Ltd., which builds offshore structures and provides other services for the petroleum industry, appointed executives to the new positions of chief operating officer and chief marketing officer.

The company also said its president will retire next year.

Global said Ashit J. Jain, 39, will be the company’s chief operating officer. Jain is currently senior vice president for the company’s Asia Pacific and Middle East division, and is based in Singapore. Jain will be responsible for project management, operations, vessel management and engineering activities around the world.

James G. Osborn, 59, will be chief marketing officer. Previously, he spent eight years at IntecSea, a unit of the global engineering company Worley Parsons Ltd.

Global also said Peter S. Atkinson, the company’s president, will retire in March 2011.
