Ford May sales rise 23 percent on demand for F-Series pickup, Mustang

DEARBORN, Mich. — Ford Motor Co.’s May sales were up 22 percent in May, the sixth straight month that its vehicle sales rose more than 20 percent over the previous year.
Ford says much of the gain was due to stronger demand for its popular F-Series pickup and the new Ford Mustang.
BY THE NUMBERS: Ford sold 192,253 cars and trucks during May.
TOP SELLER: The Ford F-Series pickup continues to be the automaker’s best selling model. Ford sold 49,858 in the month.
HOT MODEL: The Ford Edge midsize crossover SUV. Ford sold 13,660 in May, a 42.6 percent improvement over a year ago.
