BABGALORE, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- The new financial figures clearly indicate that the leading Indian MNCs which do a lot of outsourcing for UK and USA based clients are still recuperating from the sluggish economy. Wipro which is a leading outsourcing company based in India has added more employees in its portfolio compared to rivals like Infosys and TCS. This is related to the latest financial quarter. However, among the three Wipro had the slowest growing revenue. The total number of employees in its IT services division is now 112,925. The news has been confirmed by Aziz Premji the company chairman. It was followed by TCS and Infosys respectively. It was a 4.5 percent increase for Wipro.
The chairman of Wipro Aziz Premji is upbeat about growth in revenue in the coming financial quarter and he said that despite small challenges the company will continue to report profits. However, TCS is the most confident of the trio when it comes to appraisal of the companies own performances. TCS CEO N Chandrasekaran said that the last quarter was memorable for the company as it demonstrated outstanding performance. S Gopalakrishnan, the Infosys CEO however was more cautious in his statement. Infosys is also wary about the possible effects of currency fluctuations on the performance of the company in coming days.
The three companies do not follow the same model for analyzing financial performance. Aziz Premji led Wipro and rival Infosys adhere to the International Financial Reporting Standards but TCS is yet to implement it. One thing is clear; the global economic meltdown has applied a break on the growth of Indian IT giants.
