McDonald’s spends $258,160 on 2Q lobbying
WASHINGTON — McDonald’s Corp. spent $258,160 in the second quarter to lobby the government on food safety and nutrition, among other issues, according to a recent disclosure report.
That’s more than three times what the fast-food chain spent during the same period last year, but less than the $420,000 it spent in the first quarter.
The world’s largest burger chain also lobbied the federal government on legislation related to immigration, restaurant tax law, Wall Street reform, energy and other issues.
In the April-through June period, the Oak Brook, Ill.-based restaurant chain lobbied both chambers of Congress, along with the White House, and the Food & Drug Administration, according to a disclosure report filed July 20 with the House clerk’s office.
