CANADA (GaeaTimes.com) — Potash Corp. happens to be the world’s No.1 fertilizer supplier. For this reason, BHP officials decided to negotiate a $39 Billion deal with Potash Corps. But they were disheartened as the Potash representatives claimed the amount to be too low for consideration. Being upset, BHP members took the deal directly to the share holders.

Marius Kloppers, the chief executive of BHP Billiton, is quite confident on his policies. According to him, enough researches have been done until they finally decided on a proposal to take over Potash Corp of Saskatchewan. BHP is the world’s largest miner and brings along with it four decades of expertise.

BHP is already involved with a project based in Saskatchewan and is eying to make it their Global Headquarters for a long time.
