Product recalls: cheese products
The following recall has been announced:
—Queseria Chipilo, of Passaic, N.J., is recalling certain packages of cheese products because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The organism can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and in others with weakened immune systems. The company says no illnesses have been reported. The recalled cheese products include Oaxaca String Cheese, Queso Fresco and Queso Fresco Hoja De Platano. Details: by phone at 973-685-7148 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. EDT.
