Union problems settled for NYC’s fashion week

NEW YORK — The producers of New York City’s glamorous Fashion Week event have settled a potential labor dispute by agreeing to use unionized workers.

A 2,200-member local of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees had threatened to picket Fashion Week events next month if its workers weren’t included in the labor force for the glitzy spectacle.

IMG Fashion initially resisted the demand, but said Friday that it had agreed to go along.

Fashion designers and models from around the world use the twice-yearly event to show off their latest collections.

This September’s runway shows will be held at Lincoln Center.
