Ball Corp. names Mariani as advisory director
BROOMFIELD, Colo. — Ball Corp. on Thursday said it named a Brazilian bank executive as an advisory director.
Pedro Henrique Mariani, 57, is currently an executive officer and president of the board of directors of BancoBBM, based in Salvador, Brazil.
Mariani was president the Brazilian Association of Investment Banks from 1996 to 2000 and a member of the Brazilian Financial System Council between 1988 and 1996. Currently he is a member of the boards of directors of Odebrecht SA and of FEBRABAN, the Brazilian federation of banks.
Chairman and CEO R. David Hoover said Mariani has worked with Ball Corp. for years. The beverage and food products packaging maker also said Thursday it increased its stake in a joint venture in Brazil to 60 percent.
Shares of Ball Corp. closed Thursday trading up 17 cents at $58.88 and were unchanged after hours.
