NEW DIGS: Dell Inc. says it plans to open a manufacturing, sales and service center in Chengdu in 2011 to support rapid growth in business in Western China. The Chengdu facilities could eventually employ more than 3,000 workers.
BIGGER BUSINESS: Dell already has about 6,000 workers in China. The country is Dell’s second-largest source of revenue, after the U.S., and demand for PCs is growing.
MORE MONEY: The PC maker says it expects to spend about $100 billion on China operations over the next decade. It spent $23 billion in China in 2009.
