SAN FRANCISCO (GaeaTimes.com)- Those who did not shop as much as they wanted in the Black Friday and Cyber Monday have another chance to buy without worrying about shipping of the products. Today is being celebrated as the free shipping day in the USA. The shoppers can buy online and get the products delivered at their doorstep within a few days. This year more retailers and stores are participating in the event. In 2009 about 750 stores took part in this event. It is being estimated that this year almost 1500 retailers are joining this initiative. Major retailers like Kohl’s, Sears, Toys r Us are participating in Free shaping day this year which is a boon for the buyers. The orders can be placed till the midnight which is going to make things easier for the working people.

In some instances the stores are not offering free shipping to a number of items that are being sold after deep discounts. Some heavy appliances may also be excluded from the free shipping offers. However, most of the stores mention in their sites which products are excluded from the free shopping. The stores in most cases deliver the products free before the Christmas. The trend of free shipping day came into existence from 2008. In the third year the retailers are trying to utilize the day to reach out to the buyers.

The shoppers often prefer free shipping over seasonal discounts as market trends have indicated. The benefit is that on free shipping day which is a weekday, the shoppers do not have to go to the stores themselves physically. This is a bit different from Black Friday which sees the buyers thronging the stores to get products at throwaway prices.
