TCF Financial names Peter Bell to board

WAYZATA, Minn. — Regional bank holding company TCF Financial Corp. announced Monday that it named one of its former executives, Peter Bell, to its board of directors.

The appointment was effective Nov. 20.

Bell is chair of the Metropolitan Council, a regional agency that operates the bus, wastewater and parks systems and administers funds for affordable housing in the Minneapolis and St. Paul metropolitan area.

Previously, Bell was executive vice president of corporate community relations at TCF Bank from 1994 to 1999. He was executive vice president at Hazelden from 1999 to 2002. He is also a former member of the University of Minnesota Board of Regents.

TCF has 443 banking offices in Minnesota, Illinois, Michigan, Colorado, Wisconsin, Indiana, Arizona and South Dakota.

Shares of TCF Financial were up 23 cents to $12.63 in early afternoon trading.
