Report: 10 feared dead in Russia train derailment
MOSCOW — A Russian news agency has reported that 10 people were feared dead and about 130 injured in the derailment of a passenger train headed from Moscow to St. Petersburg.
State-run RIA Novosti cited an unidentified emergency official as saying those casualty figures were based on preliminary information, suggesting they were not confirmed.
Railway and law enforcement authorities said three or four cars of the express train went off the tracks in the Novgorod province. They said the cause of the derailment was not known.
