Yellowstone Nat’l Park approves development plan
BILLINGS, Mont. — Park officials say a new comprehensive plan for development in a north-central region of Yellowstone National Park has been adopted.
Yellowstone comprehensive planning chief Eleanor Williams Clark says the plan adopted earlier this month doesn’t specify that construction has to happen at Tower-Roosevelt. It only dictates how the construction should be done if any development should occur.
The decision adopts a medium level of change to accommodate new structures while ensuring that they blend with the rustic and historic nature of the area, which is one of the most heavily booked sites in the park.
The plan is the first of its kind for the park and includes a detailed resource inventory of the area.
