Alaska Airlines November traffic up 5.5 percent
SEATTLE — November traffic at Alaska Airlines rose 5.5 percent, boosting occupancy on its planes.
The Seattle-based carrier flew 1.48 billion revenue passenger miles in November, or one passenger flown one mile.
It increased capacity more slowly, with available seat miles rising 1.3 percent to 1.85 billion. Occupancy rose 3.1 percentage points to 79.8 percent.
For the first 11 months of the year, Alaska Airlines traffic is down 2.8 percent, while capacity is down 5.2 percent.
Shares of Alaska Air Group Inc. rose 9 cents to close at $30.27.
