New call center to open in northern Kentucky
FRANKFORT, Ky. — Gov. Steve Beshear says a call center will open in the northern Kentucky city of Newport, creating about 100 jobs.
Indiana-based DEFENDER Direct Inc., which markets ADT Security Services and Dish Network, will invest more than $2.3 million in the venture.
Beshear made the announcement on Wednesday.
Chief Operations Officer John Corliss said support from local and state governments played a large part in the decision to expand into Newport.
The Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority has given preliminary approval for tax incentives of up to $750,000 over a 10-year period.
