COLUMBIA, S.C. — South Carolina coach Darrin Horn has agreed to a two-year contract extension that will increase his salary to $1.1 million per year.
The university’s Board of Trustees approved the new contract Monday. It runs through March 2015.
Horn finished 21-10 in first season with the Gamecocks, winning a share of the Southeastern Conference Eastern Division title. South Carolina is 6-2 this season.
Along with a $300,000 bump in salary, the new deal also raises the buyout if Horn leaves this season from $1.5 million to $2.5 million. The buyout is $2 million after April 2011 and drops to $1.25 million in April 2012.
