Outsourcing provider Convergys switches CEOs

CINCINNATI — Business services outsourcing provider Convergys Corp. has changed its leadership.

The company based in Cincinnati said Wednesday that former Alltel Corp. executive Jeff Fox will take over as president and CEO. David Dougherty, who led Convergys less than three years, will stay on as a consultant.

The company says the 47-year-old Fox has agreed to head Convergys at least one year. The former chief operating officer of wireless provider Alltel became a Convergys board member one year ago. Dougherty is 53 years old.

Convergys, which provides call-center, billing and other customer relations services, has seen its growth falter during the recession.

Its 2009 profit fell almost 17 percent to $77.3 million as revenue rose percent to $2.83 billion.
