CVS plans to open 9 stores in Puerto Rico in 2010, creating about 400 jobs

CVS says it will expand into Puerto Rico this year
NEW YORK — CVS Caremark Corp. said Thursday it plans to expand into Puerto Rico this year, opening nine stores in the U.S. territory that will create about 400 jobs.
The Woonsocket, R.I., company said the first two stores in San Juan and Bayamon will open Monday. Later in the year it plans to open two other stores in Bayamon, with other locations in Arecibo, Dorado, Fajardo, Vega Alta, and Vega Baja.
The company had 7,025 drugstores as of Dec. 31, 2009.
In morning trading, its shares rose 27 cents to $33.
