Recalls: children’s hooded sweat shirts, jackets
The following recalls have been announced:
—About 11,800 girls’ hooded sweatshirts with drawstrings sold under the Candy Queen and Akademiks brand names. The sweatshirts, made in China and Pakistan and distributed by Weeplay Kids LLC of New York are recalled because they have drawstrings through the hoods that can pose a strangulation hazard to children. No incidents or injuries have been reported. The sweatshirts have style numbers Q37519, A22090, A393343-3, A79405-226 and A79462-1. —About 3,900 “Old Skool” girls’ hooded sweatshirts with drawstrings, made in China and imported by Bobens Trading Co. Inc. of Hicksville, N.Y. The sweatshirts’ drawstrings through the hood can pose a strangulation hazard to children. No incidents or injuries have been reported. The recall involves “Old Skool” girls’ hooded sweatshirts with long or short sleeves. The style numbers include GC5810, GV105, GV104 and GF254. The sweatshirts were sold at Burlington Coat Factory stores nationwide from November 2007 to September 2009. —About 2,400 children’s hooded jackets with the brands Blue Heart and Just a Girl. The jackets, made in China and imported by Franshaw Inc. of New York, have drawstrings through the hood that can pose a strangulation hazard to children. No incidents or injuries have been reported. —About 1,900 Attitude Gold children’s hooded sweatshirts, made in China and distributed by Baycreek Inc. of New York, because the drawstrings through the hood can pose a strangulation hazard to children. No incidents or injuries have been reported. The recalled clothes have style numbers ZZJ-01J, ZZJ-2J, ZZJ-04J or ZZJ-5J printed on the hangtag. —About 9,400 GE Telaire Airestat and Carrier Single Beam Carbon Dioxide (CO2) and Temperature Sensors, made in the U.S. and distributed by GE Infrastructure Sensing Inc. of Billerica, Mass. The CO2 and temperature sensors can overheat, posing a fire hazard. GE received three reports of a cracked capacitor causing the product to overheat and smoke. No injuries have been reported. The recalled sensors, which are wall-mounted, were sold for commercial use. The products were distributed between November 2000 and March 2005. —About 38,000 Pumptec electric motor controllers for submersible pump systems, made in the U.S. by Franklin Electric Co., of Bluffton, Ind., because the product label can come lose and expose circuitry, posing a shock hazard. —Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market Inc. is recalling all date codes of fresh&easy Chewy Chocolate Chip Granola Bars because they could be contaminated with salmonella, an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children and others with weakened immune systems. No illnesses have been reported, according to the El Segundo, Calif., company. The recalled products were sold in Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market stores in California, Nevada and Arizona.
