Fluor, Babcock & Wilcox to market carbon dioxide capture systems for power plants

Fluor, Babcock & Wilcox form alliance
IRVING, Texas — Fluor Corp. and Babcock & Wilcox Power Generation Group Inc. said Tuesday they have formed an alliance to market and sell carbon dioxide capture systems for coal-fired power plants.
The alliance will combine technology developed by Fluor with Babcock and Wilcox’s experience in the retrofit, supply and integration of air quality control systems.
The companies will work together to provide engineering, procurement, construction and commission services.
Babcock and Wilcox, a Barberton, Ohio, subsidiary of McDermott International Inc., also will receive a license to use and market Fluor’s technology.
Fluor is an engineering and construction management firm based in Irving, Texas. Its shares rose 22 cents to $45.11 in afternoon trading.
Shares of McDermott, which is headquartered in Houston, fell 18 cents to $25.03 in afternoon trading.
