Coldwater Creek appoints new CFO

SANDPOINT, Idaho — Coldwater creek Inc. said Tuesday that it has promoted James A. Bell to become the company’s senior vice president and chief financial officer.

Bell, 42, joined the specialty women’s retailer in June 2009, working most recently as its vice president of financial planning.

He takes over the CFO position from John E. Hayes III, 47, who has been serving as interim chief financial officer since Nov. 2009.

Hayes will continue as senior vice president, general counsel and secretary while he has also taken on the responsibility of directing Coldwater Creek’s human resources department.

Company shares rose 13 cents to close at $7.33.
