Lin TV posts jump in 1st-quarter revenue
PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Lin TV Corp., a television and online news company, said Wednesday that it expects to report a 23 percent jump in first-quarter revenue, helped by an improving economy and advertising market.
The company forecast revenue of $91.8 million for the quarter ended March 31, up from $74.5 million in the year-ago period.
Lin said its core advertising revenue, which excludes ad sales tied to political campaigns, rose 17 percent to $84.3 million.
“We are pleased to see signs of an economic recovery,” Lin TV CEO Vincent Sadusky said in a statement. He added that revenue is now tracking about 20 percent higher than it was in the second quarter of 2009.
The company’s stock rose 21 cents, or 3.4 percent, to $6.41 in morning trading.
