The energy provider is combining with RRI Energy Inc. in a $1.6 billion stock swap, and will be known as GenOn Energy.
DynCorp International Inc., up $5.66 at $17.41
Private equity firm Cerberus Capital Management is buying out the defense contractor for $1 billion.
Continental Airlines Inc., up $1.50 at $23.03
An analyst upgraded the carrier, predicting it will bid for UAL Corp.’s United — which is in combination talks with US Airways Group Inc.
Boots & Coots Inc., up 60 cents at $2.95
Halliburton Co. is buying the oilfield services provider for about $3 a share in cash and stock.
Javelin Pharmaceuticals Inc., up 81 cents at $2.15
The drug developer said it received an offer from Hospira Inc. that was better than a competing bid from Myriad Pharmaceuticals Inc.
