Former NRC chief to join board of Arizona utility

Pinnacle West elects new director
PHOENIX — Dale E. Klein, a former chairman of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, has joined the leadership of utility Arizona Public Service Company.
Pinnacle West Capital Corp., the parent of APS, said Klein, 62, will serve on Pinnacle West and APS boards. Klein led the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission from July 2006 to May 2009. Before that, he served as assistant to the Secretary of Defense for nuclear, chemical and biological defense programs.
Pinnacle West, which is based in Phoenix, provides electricity through its subsidiaries to Arizona residents and businesses. Its stock added 81 cents to $35.53 in Wednesday trading.
