Product recalls: Lobster meat
The following recall has been announced:
—Portland Shellfish Co. of Portland, Maine, is voluntarily recalling some brands of cooked, ready-to-eat fresh or frozen lobster meat that has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.
The brands, which were distributed nationwide in wholesale and retail stores in various sizes and lots, are Portland Shellfish Co., Claw island, Craig’s All Natural, and Inland Ocean cooked, fresh or frozen lobster claw and knuckle meat.
