Obama to meet Wednesday with BP oil executives
WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama is following his prime-time speech on the massive Gulf of Mexico oil spill with a sit-down meeting Wednesday morning with executives from the BP oil company.
Obama and Vice President Joe Biden likely will repeat the president’s claim from Tuesday night’s speech that BP has been “reckless” and that it must pay for the damage it’s caused in the Gulf. The president also will make another statement about the spill — his fourth planned remarks on the disaster in three days.
In the afternoon, Obama meets with Massachusetts’ new Republican senator, Scott Brown.
In the evening, the president will speak to the American Nurses Association House of Delegates at a Washington hotel.
