Recalls this week: Infant carriers, onesies

NEW YORK — Anyone with young children might want to check this week’s list of recalled items.

Among the defective products were infant carriers and, onesies and rompers. A handful of incidents were reported in each case, but there were no injuries.

Here are the recalled items this week:

INFANT CARRIERS

DETAILS: The CYBEX 2.GO infant carriers were manufactured in China and distributed by Regal Lager Inc. of Kennesaw, Ga. The carriers were sold at baby furniture and baby product stores around the country, as well as online, between August 2009 and April 2010.

WHY: A buckle can break and pose a risk of falls.

INCIDENTS: The company has received three reports of broken buckles, but no reports of injuries.

HOW MANY: About 2,700. An additional 400 were recalled in Canada.

CHILDREN’S BELTS

DETAILS: The belts for boys and girls were manufactured in China and imported by Target Corp. of Minneapolis. The belts were sold at Target stores nationwide, as well as on Target’s website, between December 2008 and December 2009.

WHY: They contain high levels of lead, which is dangerous for young children.

INCIDENTS: None reported.

HOW MANY: About 105,150.

INFANT ONESIES & ROMPERS

DETAILS: The infant onesies and rompers were manufactured in the United States by Holtrop & McIndoo LLC, doing business as Kiwi Industries of Albuquerque, N.M. The recalled items were sold at specialty stores for children around the country between March 2010 and May 2010.

WHY: The snaps can detach and pose a choking risk.

INCIDENTS: The company has received two reports of detached snaps, but no reports of injuries.

HOW MANY: About 450.

LOBSTER MEAT

DETAILS: Portland Shellfish Co. of Portland, Maine is recalling some brands of cooked, ready-to-eat fresh or frozen lobster meat. The brands, which were distributed nationwide in wholesale and retail stores in various sizes and lots, are Portland Shellfish Co., Claw Island, Craig’s All Natural, and Inland Ocean cooked, fresh or frozen lobster claw and knuckle meat.

WHY: It has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.

INCIDENTS: None reported.
