Magma Design Automation appoints Atmel Chairman David Sugishita to board of directors

Magma Design Automation names Sugishita to board

SAN JOSE, Calif. — Magma Design Automation Inc., which makes software for chip designers, said Monday it appointed Atmel Corp. Chairman David Sugishita to its board of directors.

Sugishita, 62, has been chairman of chip designer Atmel since August 2006. He replaces former director Chet Silvestri on the seven-member board.

Last month, Sugishita joined the board of touch-screen technology company Immersion Corp.
