Starbucks spends $180,000 lobbying in 2nd quarter
WASHINGTON — Starbucks Corp. spent $180,000 in the second quarter to lobby the federal government on taxes, food safety and other issues, according to a disclosure report.
That’s even with the $180,000 the coffee house spent in the first quarter, and up slightly from the $130,000 it spent in the first quarter.
The Seattle company also lobbied the federal government on legislation involving energy, foreign trade and other issues, according to the report filed July 19.
In the April-through-June period, the restaurant company lobbied both chambers of Congress, according to the report filed with the House clerk’s office.
