Textron to compete for Canadian vehicle contract
NEW ORLEANS — Defense contractor Textron, Inc. said Monday that it was selected to compete for the right to build a new armored vehicle for the Canadian military.
Textron said it will submit a proposal for a four-by-four wheeled vehicle outfitted with enough armor to prevent against roadside bombs. The vehicle is known as the Tactical Armored Patrol Vehicle.
The size of the potential contract was not released. Textron shares fell 5 cents to $17.81 near the close of trading.
