Gannett names new publisher for Vermont paper
MCLEAN, Va. — Newspaper publisher Gannett Co. said Tuesday it named James Fogler president and publisher of The Burlington Free Press in Vermont.
He replaces Brad Robertson, who recently became president of Gannett Local, a new website that sells marketing services for local businesses.
Fogler, 44, has been the vice president of marketing and communications for the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle.
Before his role with the Rochester newspaper, Fogler was president and publisher of the Ithaca Journal from May 2004 to October 2007. He held marketing leadership roles with Gannett in several other cities. Folger has been with the television and newspaper company since 1988.
