HIMACHAL PRADESH, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- Amway India, the direct selling FMCG giant is planning to set up a second manufacturing plant in India and it is likely to come up somewhere in South India. The news was admitted by a senior Amway India official. The company which is a member of Indian Direct Selling Association is looking forward to boost its sales in the Indian market. It is also planning to come up with a plethora of new products in wellness and Nutrition and skincare segment. The company is a part of the Amway Corporation based in the USA and it commenced its operations in India more than a decade back. With each year the company has reported growth in revenue and played a pivotal role in making the concept of direct selling popular in India.
The existing facility of Amway India is located at Baddi in Himachal Pradesh which will be used to serve the eastern and Northern markets. The new facility that may come up in South India will cover the rest of India. The existing facility was set up after the company entered an agreement with a regional vendor named. Sarvotham Care Ltd. It now manufactures near about 85 percent of Amway products that are sold in India.
Amway India now offers more than 115 products in 5 categories. Of late the company has set its focus on Children and older people. The company rolled out specific products meant for the Indian users earlier under Persona and Dynamite brands. It is also keen on introducing new products in health and wellness range, which is a major contributor to its success in India.
