Summary Box: Data firm sees 2011 drug sales rising
GROWTH SPURT: IMS Health forecasts global prescription drug sales will rise 5 percent to 7 percent next year, up from just 4 percent to 5 percent growth this year.
GROWTH FACTORS: Several new potential blockbusters should be launched, gross domestic product is rising in many countries, and China and other emerging markets are spending more on health care.
COUNTER WEIGHTS: Sales will grow far less in developed markets where insurers and governments are reining in spending, and some major blockbusters such as cholesterol fighter Lipitor will get generic competition.
