RICHMOND, Va. — Performance Food Group says its acquisition of a Kentucky company is expected to close by the end of the month.

Virginia-based Performance announced its acquisition of Somerset Food Service on Friday. Details of the deal weren’t released.

Performance says Somerset will operate as Performance Foodservice-Somerset. Somerset General Manager Tommy Jones will serve as president.

Somerset is a broadline food service distributor that serves regional and national chains, schools, health care food service operations and single-unit independent operators.

Performance is a national distributor of food service products. It has more than 65 facilities across the nation.
