Goodyear names head of N. American tire business

AKRON, Ohio — Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. on Wednesday named an outside executive as president of its North American tire business.

Goodyear picked Curt J. Andersson, the president of Cooper Industries’ Cooper Crouse-Hinds unit, to replace Richard J. Kramer, who was named Goodyear’s chief operating officer last June.

Andersson, 48, has been president of the Crouse-Hinds unit for six years and previously held management jobs at The Timken Co. and General Electric Co.

Goodyear shares fell 19 cents to close at $13.74.
