Gannett names new senior VP for labor relations

MCLEAN, Va. — Newspaper publisher Gannett on Monday said it had promoted William Behan, vice president for labor relations, to senior vice president for labor relations.

He succeeds Wendell J. Van Lare, who plans to retire at the end of April after more than three decades at the company.

Gannett Co. shares rose 82 cents, or 5.4 percent, to $15.97 in afternoon trading.
