MIAMI — Free agent linebacker Karlos Dansby is visiting the Miami Dolphins, his first stop in the opening hours of NFL free agency, a person familiar with the negotiations says.
The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the Dolphins don’t comment on contract talks. It was unclear whether Dansby planned to visit other teams.
Dansby played inside linebacker for Arizona. The Dolphins seek to upgrade that position, and they’re also in the market to replace outside linebacker Joey Porter, a four-time Pro Bowler chosen in January to the NFL’s All-Decade team.
The Dolphins released the disgruntled Porter last month. He reverted to their roster because of a salary cap technicality, and he’s expected to be waived again.
