Kroger, Ruby Tuesday, UAL are big movers

NEW YORK — Stocks that moved substantially or traded heavily Tuesday on the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq Stock Market:

Kroger Co., down 55 cents at $22.35

A gasoline incentive program boosted sales, but quarterly profit fell 27 percent as promotions and discounts increased.

Ruby Tuesday Inc., up 82 cents at $9.88

The restaurant chain said a key sales measurement was improving and was at its best level in three years despite bad weather.

Thor Industries Inc., down $2.84 at $33.22

The recreational vehicle and bus maker’s second quarter earnings fell short of analysts’ expectations.

General Growth Properties Inc., up 47 cents at $14.55

Three investors are now offering a combined $6.5 billion in funds to help lift the shopping mall operator out of bankruptcy.

UAL Corp., up 64 cents at $18.16

United Airlines’ parent company said business travel and other high-end fares rose in February, boosting passenger revenue.

Arris Group Inc., up 63 cents at $12.05

An analyst upgraded the provider of equipment for the cable industry, saying international sales and new products will boost growth.

Broadwind Energy Inc., up 33 cents at $5.44

A recovery in the wind energy sector starting in the second half of the year will boost sales growth for the company, an analyst said.

Nvidia Corp., up 63 cents at $17.55

An analyst said chip supplies are tight and Wall Street is underestimating the maker of graphics chips for PCs and other gadgets.
