GE plans new R&D center in Ohio
NEW CENTER: GE Aviation says it will put a new electric power systems research and development center near Dayton, in southwest Ohio. It will work on electrical systems for ground vehicles, aircraft and naval ships.
NEIGHBORS: Officials of the General Electric Co. unit noted that Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and its research labs are near Dayton.
OHIO’S HELP: Ohio’s Third Frontier program is providing a $7.6 million grant to help the project, which state officials say could add 100-200 jobs, depending on future contracts.
