Crews dig for 2 workers trapped in Ohio trench
HUDSON, Ohio — Authorities say two workers laying sewer lines are trapped in a trench that collapsed in northeast Ohio.
Rescue crews were digging through dirt Wednesday afternoon to reach the workers, whose conditions weren’t immediately known. The trench was about 15 feet deep.
Hudson city spokeswoman Jody Roberts says employees from an excavating company were working on the project when one of the sides of the trench fell apart.
The sewer line is near a new cul-de-sac street, where three new homes are to be built.
