Spirit Airlines vows to settle with pilots
MIRAMAR, Fla. — Spirit Airlines says it still intends to settle contract talks with its pilots even though the union has moved closer to a possible strike.
The pilots are rejecting binding arbitration, which will trigger a 30-day cooling-off period that could be followed by a strike.
Spirit warned on Wednesday that it could notify employees of possible reductions.
The Florida-based airline says it plans to continue operating normally and still hopes to sign a contract with the union.
