Product Recalls: sled tow hitches

The following recall has been announced:

— About 250 utility sled tow hitches, made in China and Canada and imported by Pelican International, of Quebec, Canada, because the screws in the hitches can loosen and fall off from vibrations. The sled and hitch can detach from the towing vehicle, posing an injury hazard to the user and bystanders. The recall involves hitches used with Pelican Snow Trek Utility sleds. The hitches allow a Snow Trek sled to be connected to a snowmobile or similar vehicles. The recalled hitches were sold at Paricon Inc., V.G. Grace and other regional distributors and sports retailers nationwide from January 2007 through December 2009. Details: by phone at 888-669-6960; by Web at www.pelicansport.com or www.cpsc.gov.
