Recalls: tiaras, garlic spread, diet supplement
The following recalls have been announced:
—About 7,300 children’s tiaras, made in China and imported by Wilton Industries Inc. of Woodridge, Ill., because the item contains high levels of lead, which is dangerous for young children. No incidents or injuries have been reported. This recall involves the Wilton Youth Tiara with a SKU number of 120-228. Party City, Jo-Ann Fabrics, Ben Franklin stores, Amazon.com and other retailers sold the item nationwide from June 2009 through April 2010. Details: by phone at 800-593-7866; by web at www.cpsc.gov/.
—Pure Base Distribution LLC is recalling its 4-ounce bottles of “Pure Base Garlic Spread-Concentrate” and 7-ounce bottles of “Pure Base Garlic Spread-Ready to Spread” items, because they may contain undeclared milk and wheat. The company said people who have allergies to milk or wheat run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products. There have been no reported incidents involving people. The items were distributed nationwide in online and traditional retail stores. —INZ Distributors Inc.-Magic Power Coffee Inc. is recalling a dietary supplement sold under the name, Magic Power Coffee. The company said an FDA lab analysis found that some of the products contained a chemical, not listed on their labels, that could lower blood pressure to dangerous levels. The items were sold nationwide on Internet sites in a 2-serving box with UPC 718122686872 and a 12-serving carton containing six 2-serving boxes with UPC 718122686773. All products that were made until May 8, 2010, are being recalled. There have been no reported incidents involving people.
