Ford says June sales fall 13 percent from May
DETROIT — Ford Motor Co. says its U.S. sales fell 13 percent in June as consumers pulled back on auto purchases.
Ford says sales were up 15 percent over last June, when the industry was in the midst of a deep recession. But the drop from May shows that the industry couldn’t keep up its steady sales increases.
Ford says pickup truck demand was especially strong, with sales of the new Super Duty up 58 percent over last June. Sales of the new Mustang were also brisk.
Ford also began delivering its new Fiesta subcompact to U.S. customers in June.
