Strategic Hotels & Resorts names new board chair
CHICAGO — Strategic Hotels & Resorts Inc. said Tuesday that its board named Rip Gellein Jr. as its chair effective immediately.
Gellein, 62, takes over from William Prezant, who will remain on the board, the company said.
Gellein joined Strategic Hotels’ board in 2009. Before that, he was president of the global development group for Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide Inc.
Prezant became the board’s chair in Jan. 2007.
Strategic Hotels’ shares rose 2 cents to $4.37 in after-hours trading, having finished regular trading down 14 cents, or 3.1 percent, at $4.35.
