Suzuki Slingshot Now In India

NEW DELHI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- The competition in the bike segment in India is getting more intense with time. The latest contender from Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd named Suzuki Slingshot is the latest to join the bandwagon. This lightweight 125 cc bike is aimed at the young and trendy customers who prefer a compact bike high on the style quotient. Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd is a subsidiary of the Suzuki Motor Corporation based in Japan. The latter said that it will invest an amount of INR 500 crore to augment its production capacity in India by 2012. The company will have to compete with TVS and Bajaj Auto to grab a share of the market in India.
The new Suzuki Slingshot has been priced at INR 44000 in Delhi. It is being launched to fill the gap between the entry level 100 cc bike sand 150 cc ones. Katsumi Takata the Chairman of Suzuki Motorcycle India said that it blends the competence of a 100cc bike with style quotient of a 150cc model. Atul Gupta the Vice-President of Suzuki Motorcycle India’s Sales and Marketing division said that the bike comes with a unique pulsed-secondary air-injection system that reduces emission and increases mileage.
The Chairman also said that Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd will focus on introducing new models and strengthening its distribution network. The company makes both motorcycles and scooters in India. This year the company expects to sell 2.70 lakh units in India. The company unveils Slingshot in a plethora of exciting new color including Pearl Nebular Black, Metallic Mustard Yellow, Metallic Fox Orange and Candy Antares Red.
