Kia names new top executive after recalls
KIA CEO: South Korean automaker Kia Motors named Lee Hyoung-keun to its top executive job Wednesday.
WHO IS HE: Lee Hyoung-keun, also known as Hank Lee, has been the chief of Kia’s overseas operations. He retains that post but will now oversee domestic business, global corporate planning and production and labor relations. Seo Young-jong retains his position as company president and CEO with a focus on domestic operations.
WHAT HAPPENED: Chung Sung-eun, one of Kia’s two CEOs, resigned last week after Kia recalled more than 100,000 vehicles for a safety defect.
