Websense says 4Q bookings topped its expectations
SAN DIEGO — Websense Inc. said Thursday that new billings for the fourth quarter and full year came in ahead of the company’s expectations, helped by strong demand for its new Web security software.
The company, which makes both Internet filtering and security products, said fourth-quarter billings totaled $118 million with an average contract length of about 24 months. Websense had forecast billings of $106 million to $116 million.
Full-year billings for 2009 totaled $352 million, also better than a prior estimated range of $340 million to $350 million.
The company is scheduled to report total revenue and earnings for the final quarter and full year on Feb. 2.
