EarthLink says Chief Operating Officer Joseph Wetzel is now president as well

EarthLink names COO Wetzel as new president

ATLANTA — Internet provider EarthLink Inc. said Thursday it named Chief Operating Officer Joseph Wetzel as its new president, effective immediately.

The company said Wetzel, 54, will oversee product management and marketing. He joined EarthLink in August 2007.

The role of president had been vacant.

EarthLink stock lost 3 cents to $8.72 in morning trading.
