Country Style Cooking surges in trading debut
NEW YORK — Shares of Country Style Cooking Restaurant Chain are rocketing on their first day of public trading, rising more than 50 percent.
The China-based restaurant chain says it sold 5 million shares of stock to the public for $16.50 each. It had expected its IPO to price between $14 and $16 per American depositary share.
The shares rose as much as 60 percent in Tuesday trading.
The company raised raise $82.5 million from the offering, and could collect more if the underwriters of the IPO exercise an option to buy additional shares.
The stock rose $9.02, or 55 percent, to $25.52 in midday trading. The shares peaked at $26.45.
